Wanda Goodman International School Claims Maiden Title

History was made at the maiden edition of the Dollar City Maths Quiz 2025 when two girls from Wanda Goodman International School emerged as the top performers among 32 students from 16 schools, defeating both boys and girls to win the overall competition.
The two students who led this historic victory are:
- PHILIPA B. ASOMANING – Class 5, 11 years old
- NHYIRA FRIMPOMAA TAKYI – Class 6, 11 years old
Their performance stood out for confidence, speed, teamwork, and clear understanding of mathematical concepts, earning Wanda Goodman International School the championship title and placing young girls at the center of a powerful STEM success story in Akyem Achiase.
Competition Structure and Participation
The Dollar City Maths Quiz 2025 was held in Dollar City, Akim Achiase, and focused on Upper Primary students (Class 4–6). Each of the 16 participating schools was represented by two students, creating a highly competitive environment designed to promote academic excellence, confidence, and problem-solving skills.
Main Prizes Won by the Champions
As winners of the maiden edition, the two girls from Wanda Goodman International School received:
- GHS 500 each
- One MacBook (Apple Laptop) each
- School supplies
- Their school received GHS 2,000 in support
In addition to the main prizes, their exceptional performance earned further recognition:
- PHILIPA B. ASOMANING received the Best Performing Girl Trophy
- NHYIRA FRIMPOMAA TAKYI was crowned Overall Best Student of the Competition, receiving an additional Tablet and GHS 500
This rare outcome strongly reinforced the objective of the competition—to encourage girls to participate confidently and excel in mathematics and STEM-related disciplines.

Rewards for All Participants and Schools
The maiden edition was structured to ensure inclusiveness and encouragement for every participant:
- All other participating students (26 students) received GHS 100 each
- All other participating schools (13 schools) received GHS 500 each
- Every participating student received a Medal and a Certificate of Participation
- Special incentives were awarded to participating girls from all schools
- Surprise giveaways were presented to spectators, making the event a community-wide celebration
